Description

The Lantac LATCH is an ambidextrous charging handle designed for AR-15 platforms, built for shooters who want meaningful control improvements over a standard mil-spec handle — whether they run suppressed, shoot from support positions, or simply want a more deliberate grip surface on both sides of the gun.

The ergonomic latches on each side are larger and more textured than a standard charging handle, which matters when wearing gloves, running drills at speed, or clearing a malfunction under stress. Because the latch geometry is optimized for snag reduction, it stays out of the way during normal carry and handling but presents a positive purchase exactly when you need it.

The more consequential engineering is in the gas mitigation built into the main handle body. When gas bleeds back through the bolt carrier — particularly common when running a suppressor or an over-gassed upper — it follows the path of least resistance toward the shooter’s face. Lantac thickens the rear registration area and shapes the handle to redirect and block that flow, keeping it away from the shooter’s eyes and nose. This is a passive, geometry-based solution that requires no adjustments and adds no moving parts.

The handle is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, the same alloy used in aerospace structural components, and finished with a Type III hardcoat anodize to MIL-A-8625 — a specification that defines abrasion and corrosion resistance for military hardware.
