Engineered ammunition for the shooter who cannot afford a compromise.
The APEX9 is a 9mm duty and defensive round built on a single conviction. The cartridge is the weapon. Everything else is a delivery system.
Most 9mm ammunition is built to a price. The APEX9 was built to a standard. It is a 63-grain solid copper projectile, fluted, engineered for terminal performance that conventional jacketed ammunition has never been able to deliver. Out of a 4.5-inch barrel, the round runs at 1,957 feet per second. That is rifle-class velocity from a duty pistol. It is what makes everything else the round does possible.
The projectile is monolithic copper, machined with precision flutes that drive the round’s terminal behavior. On impact in soft tissue, those flutes generate hydraulic forces that produce a permanent wound cavity disproportionate to the caliber. The projectile does not deform in the conventional sense. It does not depend on expansion. It does the damage by design, the same way every time, regardless of what the round passed through to get there.
That last part matters. A conventional hollow point depends on hydraulic expansion to do its work. Put a layer of denim, sheetrock, auto glass, or a winter coat in front of it and the expansion mechanism can fail. The bullet plugs, fails to open, and behaves like ball ammunition through the threat. The APEX9 has no expansion mechanism to fail. The flutes do the work whether the round arrived through clear air or through a barrier, and they do it at velocities that conventional 9mm ammunition cannot reach.
The round is also armor capable. The combination of solid copper construction, projectile geometry, and the velocity the cartridge produces gives the APEX9 the ability to defeat soft armor that stops conventional 9mm ammunition cold. This is a 9mm cartridge that performs in a class the caliber has never occupied.
The APEX9 was developed for users who operate in environments where the round has to work. Law enforcement officers who carry the same weapon for a full career and need ammunition that performs the same way in year ten that it did in year one. Protective details whose engagement, if it ever comes, will happen at conversational distance against a threat that may be wearing armor, may be behind a windshield, may be inside a vehicle. Armed citizens who have made the decision to be capable and who understand that capability without quality ammunition is a story they tell themselves. Tactical units running 9mm carbines and submachine guns who want rifle-adjacent performance without leaving the platform.
The APEX9 was engineered to be one round that does the work of three. Duty load. Barrier load. Armor capability. The shooter trains with it, carries it, and trusts it. The same round, every time.
The cartridge is loaded to standard pressure specifications so it runs in any duty-grade 9mm the user already carries. No special platform. No proprietary chamber. The shooter’s pistol becomes a more capable weapon the moment the magazine is loaded.
The APEX9 is currently in advanced development with manufacturing partners qualified for precision projectile production. Initial release will be in limited quantities to vetted distributors and direct purchasers. Inquiries are accepted directly through Centurion Armament Co.
