Description

The American Defense AD-T1 lightweight mount is built for shooters who run an Aimpoint Micro-footprint red dot and want a secure, repeatable quick-detach solution without carrying unnecessary weight. The design sheds 20% of the mass found in conventional mounts of the same class by trimming material where it does not contribute to structural rigidity, which matters on a rifle carried for long periods or where overall weight is already a concern.

At lower 1/3 co-witness height, the mount positions the red dot so that your iron sights appear in the lower third of the optic’s window rather than at center. That arrangement keeps a usable iron sight picture available without the dot sitting so high that it disrupts your natural head position behind the optic. It is a practical compromise for shooters who want the optic as their primary aiming solution but prefer irons to remain accessible rather than stowed.

The body is precision machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in a hard coat T3 Mil-Spec anodize, the same surface treatment specification used across military small arms components. American Defense’s patented QD Auto Lock Lever system clamps to the rail without tools — a flat blade screwdriver works if you prefer, but a finger is sufficient — and the lever can be oriented to lock toward the front or rear of the receiver depending on your preference or rail layout. The clamping geometry is designed to engage both in-spec and out-of-spec Picatinny rails reliably. The mount is compatible with the Aimpoint T1, T2, H1, H2, Crossfire, Romeo 5, and other red dots sharing the same micro footprint.
