Description

The Arisaka Defense Indexer for the Geissele SMR 416 is a low-profile hand control accessory designed specifically for the older direct-mount Geissele SMR 416 handguard found on the HK 416 platform. It was developed in direct response to demand from end users who wanted a finger stop solution tailored to the Picatinny rail interface of that particular handguard — shooters running the newer MK15 416 handguard with M-LOK slots will want Arisaka’s M-LOK variant instead.

The indexer’s primary function is to sit between two fingers — typically the index and middle — giving the support hand a consistent, repeatable reference point on the handguard. That repeatability matters for shot-to-shot consistency, particularly when transitioning between positions or re-establishing a firing grip after moving. Because it sits forward on the handguard rather than in the shooter’s palm, it stays clear during kneeling and prone shooting when the hand needs to travel rearward without obstruction.

The wide, flat profile serves a second practical purpose: it acts as a hard stop that keeps the support hand from sliding forward off a shorter handguard toward a hot barrel or suppressor. It can also serve as a barricade stop when shooting around cover. CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in MIL-A-8625 Type III hard coat anodize, the construction keeps weight minimal without sacrificing durability. Installation requires a T25 Torx wrench, sold separately. Made in the USA.
