The Arisaka Defense MK2 Aimpoint Acro Mount is built for shooters who want a compact, closed-emitter red dot running at a height that actually suits how modern carbines are used. The 2.26-inch optical centerline places the Acro high enough to achieve a lower one-third co-witness with standard AR-height iron sights, which means your dot and your irons share the same sight picture without the irons bisecting the glass—useful when transitioning between aiming methods quickly. That same height pairs directly with the Unity FAST FTC magnifier mount, so if you’re running a magnifier behind the Acro, your optical centerlines will already be matched without shimming or adapters.

Arisaka machines this mount from 7075-T651 aluminum, an alloy chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio in structural applications, and finishes it with a MIL-A-8625 Type III hardcoat anodized surface. Type III hardcoat is a thicker, denser anodizing process than standard Type II, which improves abrasion resistance and makes the surface less susceptible to corrosion from solvents and sweat during extended use. At 3.2 ounces including the mounting screws, the added height costs almost nothing in terms of overall rifle weight.

Compatibility extends beyond the Acro itself to any optic sharing the same footprint, including the Steiner MPS. The mount attaches to a Picatinny rail with a cross-bolt clamp, and Arisaka specifies 50 inch-pounds of torque at the rail and 25 inch-pounds at the optic-to-mount interface—specific values worth noting so you’re not guessing with a torque wrench. An integrated accessory interface is built into the mount for future Arisaka add-ons, keeping the design forward-compatible without adding bulk now.
