Where BCM put the real engineering work is in the stock body itself: the widebody SOPMOD profile raises the cheek contact area, which means your eye naturally indexes higher and more consistently behind a magnified optic or co-witnessed iron sights without lifting your head off the stock. That geometry matters when you are moving between positions quickly.

Every external edge on the stock is radiused. On a slung rifle that lives against a chest rig or plate carrier, sharp corners catch on webbing and slow a transition. The snag-free profile is a practical decision, not an aesthetic one. The VBOST tab — a small integrated sling anchor point on the stock body — lets you secure your sling against the stock with a rigger’s band or bungee when the rifle is stowed inside a vehicle, keeping the sling clear of your hands when you need to move fast.
