Description
The Bergara Premier Barreled Action in 7mm PRC is built for the rifle builder or custom-fit shooter who wants a verified foundation rather than a starting-over project. It pairs Bergara’s Premier bolt action with a finished, headspaced barrel, so the critical dimension most builders wrestle with is already resolved at the factory level. The action accepts Remington 700-pattern scope bases using an 8-40 screw pattern, which means the optics mounting ecosystem most precision shooters already own works here without adapters. It also accepts Remington 700-pattern triggers, so swapping to a preferred trigger pull is straightforward rather than a custom fitment exercise.
The barrel itself is a No. 4 contour profile, which Bergara uses on the Canyon rifle — a fluted design that removes material in the right places to reduce weight without sacrificing the stiffness needed to maintain point of impact through a shooting session. The 416 stainless steel construction resists corrosion in field conditions and is delivered in a raw stainless finish, which is well-suited to stockmakers and builders who intend to inlet, finish, or coat the metal to their own specification. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24, accepting the standard thread pattern used by most suppressors and muzzle devices built for this bore diameter. The 1-in-8-inch twist rate stabilizes the heavier, longer-for-caliber projectiles that make 7mm PRC effective at extended range — you are not limited to lighter bullets, but the twist rate was chosen with the cartridge’s upper end of bullet weight in mind. At 4.2 pounds, the barreled action leaves meaningful room in the total build budget for a stock without pushing the finished rifle into burdensome carry weight.
