Description
The Patriot Predator is built around a single purpose: putting a capable, accurate hunting rifle in the field at a price that leaves room in the budget for glass. It suits hunters and shooters who want a serious bolt gun without paying for a custom-shop pedigree they may not need.
Mossberg’s LBA (Lightning Bolt Action) trigger is user-adjustable, meaning you can dial pull weight to match your preference without sending the rifle to a gunsmith. That kind of tunable feel matters in a hunting context, where a crisp, consistent break is more useful than raw trigger speed. The spiral-fluted bolt reduces rotating friction and gives the oversized bolt handle a more positive purchase under field conditions — gloves, cold, or a wet stock.
The 1-in-10 twist rate in the 22-inch barrel is well-suited to the middle of the .308 Winchester projectile weight range, roughly 150 to 175 grains, which covers most hunting loads and match ammunition without pushing toward the extremes that demand a faster or slower twist. The fluted barrel reduces weight along the barrel’s length, which matters when you’re carrying the rifle for hours, not shooting from a bench.
The muzzle is threaded at 5/8×24, the standard pitch for .308-bore suppressors and muzzle devices. A thread protector cap is included. The top-mounted Picatinny rail replaces open iron sights entirely — this rifle is designed from the start to wear a scope, with the rail providing consistent, repeatable mounting geometry. The Flat Dark Earth synthetic stock is weather-resistant and dimensionally stable across temperature swings, which matters more in a hunting rifle than in a range gun that lives in a case.
