The BMR-X Steel is built for rimfire competition and serious benchwork — shooters who want a platform that behaves like a full-size precision rifle rather than a sporting .22. The heavy No. 6 profile 4140 CrMo steel barrel adds meaningful mass at the muzzle end, which dampens the minor wobble that lighter barrels amplify over a long relay. That stability matters most when you are shooting from a rest or bag and trying to hold a tight group across many rounds.

The match chamber is cut to tighter tolerances than a standard sporting chamber, which means the cartridge seats more consistently shot to shot. Paired with a 1-in-16 twist rate, the barrel is optimized for standard .22 LR ammunition weights — the slower twist suits the relatively short, lightweight bullets common in target and match .22 LR loads rather than the heavier projectiles some centerfire twist rates are designed around.

The stock is built around the same geometry as Bergara’s centerfire precision line: a vertical pistol grip reduces lateral torque when the trigger breaks, and the flat forend sits flush against a bag or rest without rocking. Length of pull adjusts without tools, so the fit does not change when you swap between a t-shirt and a heavy shooting jacket. The Bergara Performance Trigger has an externally accessible adjustment screw, meaning pull weight can be dialed in without removing the action from the stock. A 30 MOA rail comes mounted from the factory, giving a scope additional elevation range for longer distances where .22 LR drop becomes substantial. Two magazines are included — one five-round and one ten-round — and the rifle ships with no iron sights, which assumes a magnified or red-dot optic will be mounted.
