The Bergara Premier Cima Pro is a purpose-built mountain hunting rifle for shooters who carry far and shoot once. Every major component is built around reducing pack weight without giving up the structural rigidity that accuracy demands at distance.

The barrel is Bergara’s CURE Carbon design — a proprietary construction that bonds a carbon fiber weave around a stainless steel core using embedded stainless strands to manage heat distribution. The problem conventional carbon-wrapped barrels have is that carbon and steel expand at different rates as the bore heats, which shifts point of impact. The CURE process addresses this by engineering the heat transfer rather than ignoring it, so the barrel stays consistent across a string of shots. At a 20-inch length, the rifle gives up some muzzle velocity compared to a full-length hunting barrel, but gains meaningful handling advantage in dense timber and steep terrain. The 1:10-inch twist rate suits the .308 Win cartridge well across a broad range of bullet weights — from lighter 150-grain loads up through 175- to 180-grain projectiles commonly used for longer shots — without being optimized so tightly for heavy-for-caliber bullets that everyday hunting ammunition is penalized.

The stock is autoclave-cured carbon fiber, a process that maximizes the fiber-to-resin ratio during layup. More fiber, less resin means a stiffer, lighter finished part rather than one that trades off one for the other. The Premier action beneath it is machined from 416 stainless steel and accepts Remington 700 pattern scope bases with 8-40 screws, keeping optics compatibility broad. A TriggerTech trigger provides a user-adjustable break with a rolling-pivot design that eliminates the sliding friction of a conventional sear. The two-position safety and five-round floor plate magazine round out a platform designed to be carried hard and trusted when it matters.
