Description
The B-14 HMR in left-hand configuration is built for the shooter who wants a single rifle capable of pulling double duty between the hunting field and the precision shooting range. The left-hand bolt and corresponding port make this a straightforward working rifle for southpaws, not an afterthought adaptation of a right-hand design.
Bergara builds the barrel from 4140 chrome-moly steel with a No. 6 taper and finishes it in Graphite Black Cerakote, which provides corrosion resistance without adding the weight penalty of a heavier contour. The 26-inch tube gives .300 Winchester Magnum handloads and factory ammunition the dwell time needed to reach meaningful velocity gains over shorter barrels, which matters when you are stretching shots at distance. The 1-in-10-inch twist rate is well-suited to the mid- to heavier-weight .30-caliber bullets most commonly loaded for .300 Win Mag — bullets in the 180- to 220-grain range stabilize reliably at that rate, so you are not constrained to a narrow band of ammunition choices.
The stock uses an integrated mini-chassis rather than a traditional bedding block, which gives the barreled action a repeatable mechanical reference point each time it is assembled. Combined with a fully free-floated barrel, that arrangement removes wood or polymer contact as a variable in shot-to-shot consistency. The cheekpiece adjusts for height and length of pull can be tuned via spacers, which is relevant when switching between field and range positions or when fitting the rifle to different shooters. QD flush cups are built into the stock for sling mounting. The detachable AICS-pattern magazine feeds from a proven format that is compatible with a wide range of aftermarket pouches and field accessories.
