Description
The B-14 HMR in 7mm PRC is built for hunters and precision rifle competitors who want a single platform that transitions cleanly between the field and the bench. The 7mm PRC cartridge runs at a relatively high pressure ceiling and pushes long, high-BC projectiles at velocities that make it a genuine long-range hunting round, and Bergara’s 1:8-inch twist rate is chosen specifically to stabilize those heavier, longer bullets — a slower twist would leave them marginalizing the cartridge’s real advantage at distance.
The barrel is threaded 5/8×24, which means the rifle ships ready to accept a suppressor or a full-size muzzle brake without an adapter. The 24-inch tube gives the powder column sufficient time to burn efficiently before the projectile exits, recovering velocity that shorter barrels sacrifice — relevant when the cartridge’s performance envelope is part of the reason you chose it. Graphite Black Cerakote on the barrel handles moisture and abrasion without adding meaningfully to weight, a practical choice for a rifle that may spend time in changing weather.
The stock integrates a molded mini-chassis rather than relying on bedding compound or a pillar system, which gives the barreled action a consistent return-to-zero without gunsmithing. A fully free-floated barrel removes the variable of wood or polymer contact shifting point of impact with temperature or humidity changes. The cheekpiece adjusts for height and the length of pull accepts spacers, so the rifle can be fitted to a specific shooter or a specific optic height rather than forced to fit on its own terms. A five-round AICS-pattern detachable magazine comes standard, and the AICS footprint means aftermarket magazine options are readily available.
