The Premier HMR Pro is Bergara’s answer to a rifle that can move between a precision shooting mat and a backcountry hunt without asking you to compromise on either. It is built around Bergara’s Premier Action, a two-lug design with a separate floating bolt head that keeps the lugs in consistent contact with the receiver’s abutments — the kind of detail that tightens shot-to-shot consistency rather than leaving it to the shooter to manage. The cone-shaped bolt nose guides cartridges into the chamber smoothly under pressure, and a spring-loaded sliding plate extractor in the front of the lower locking lug handles extraction reliably without the mechanical slop of a simpler hook design. The bolt body, bolt head, non-rotating gas shield, and shroud are all nitrided, which reduces friction and eliminates the need for constant lubrication in field conditions.

The stock integrates a full-length mini-chassis rather than relying on pillar bedding alone, so the action sits in a rigid, repeatable interface every time it’s reassembled. The barrel is fully free-floated, meaning barrel harmonics are not influenced by stock pressure that shifts as the wood or polymer responds to temperature and humidity. The cheekpiece adjusts for height, and length-of-pull spacers let you fit the rifle to the shooter rather than the other way around. Integrated QD flush cups and swivel mounts are built into the stock, so you are not adding hardware to a rifle already at the upper end of a comfortable carry weight.

The 26-inch barrel in .300 Winchester Magnum gives the propellant charge the dwell time it needs to push heavy long-range projectiles to full velocity. The 1-in-10-inch twist rate is well suited to the range of hunting and match bullets most commonly used in this chambering. The threaded muzzle accepts standard 5/8″-24 tpi accessories, and the barrel wears Tactical Grey Cerakote throughout. Scope bases follow the Remington 700 pattern, which means mount selection is broad and well understood.
