The B-14 Wilderness HMR is built for hunters and long-range shooters who need a precision-capable rifle that can take rough weather without coddling. The HMR stock is molded around an integrated mini-chassis, which gives the barreled action a rigid, repeatable bedding surface — the kind of consistency that lets a rifle shoot the same point of impact cold-bore as it does after a hard pack-in. That matters more in the field than on a bench, where conditions rarely repeat themselves.

The 20-inch barrel in .308 Winchester reflects a deliberate trade-off: you give up some velocity compared to a 24-inch tube, but the rifle handles more naturally in tight terrain and balances better with a muzzle device in place. The 1-in-10-inch twist rate is well-suited to the broad range of .308 projectiles most hunters and practical shooters reach for, from 150-grain hunting bullets through 175-grain match-grade loads, without over-stabilizing lighter options. The barrel is cut from 4140 CrMo steel in a No. 6 taper and carries a Sniper Grey Cerakote finish shared with the action — a finish chosen for corrosion resistance in the kind of wet, cold conditions backcountry hunts produce.

The threaded muzzle ships with an Omni Muzzle Brake installed, and the 5/8″-24 thread pattern accommodates a wide range of aftermarket devices. The B-14 action uses a two-lug bolt with a coned nose and breech, which helps guide cartridges into the chamber cleanly under field conditions. The receiver is drilled and tapped to Remington 700 base dimensions, so scope mounting options are broad and hardware is easy to source. The Bergara Performance Trigger and adjustable cheek piece and length-of-pull let the shooter dial in fit without gunsmithing.
