The B-14 Ridge is Bergara’s answer to the serious big-game hunter who wants a working rifle rather than a safe queen — something accurate enough to trust at distance, built to take weather and hard use without ceremony. It sits in the B-14 Series, which is where Bergara applies the same barrel manufacturing processes used across their line to a rifle priced for the hunting market rather than the benchrest crowd.

The barrel is cut from 4140 chrome-moly steel and given a No. 5 taper, a profile that sheds enough weight to keep the rifle packable while retaining the rigidity needed for consistent shot-to-shot performance. The Graphite Black Cerakote finish on that barrel is there for corrosion resistance in the field, not cosmetics — it matters when you’re hunting wet ground or carrying through changing temperatures that cause condensation. A 1-in-10″ twist rate in .308 Winchester stabilizes the full range of common hunting projectiles, from 150-grain loads up through 175-grain match-style bullets, without pushing you toward a narrow band of bullet weights.

The B-14 action uses a two-lug bolt with a sliding plate extractor and a coned bolt nose and breech. That geometry is specifically designed to smooth the transition of a cartridge from magazine to chamber, which matters when you’re working the bolt quickly on a follow-up shot. The internal box magazine feeds from a hinged floorplate — a traditional arrangement that lets you unload cleanly in the field without running rounds through the action. The barrel is threaded at 5/8″-24 tpi, the standard pitch for .30-caliber bore suppressors and muzzle brakes. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope rings, and Bergara backs the rifle with a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee.
