Description
The B-14 Wilderness Ridge is built for hunters and long-range shooters who spend serious time in variable, demanding conditions and need a rifle that holds up without requiring careful handling. It sits between Bergara’s standard B-14 line and their Premier Series, offering a meaningful step up in weather resistance and field readiness at a practical price point.
The barreled action wears a Sniper Grey Cerakote finish throughout, which does more than resist surface rust — it provides a consistent barrier against the moisture cycling that erodes blued steel over a season of hard use. The barrel itself is cut from 4140 CrMo steel with a No. 5 taper, a profile that balances stiffness against carried weight over a full day in the field. A 1-in-9″ twist rate at this barrel length stabilizes the long, high-BC projectiles that make .300 PRC worthwhile at extended range, without requiring hand-selected ammunition to do it.
The B-14 action uses a two-lug bolt with a coned nose and breech, along with a sliding plate extractor. That geometry makes feeding and extraction consistent from a cold start as well as in rapid follow-up situations. The Bergara Performance Trigger ships with the rifle and is adjustable, which matters when a consistent break is part of your doping routine. A hinged floor plate provides reliable access to the magazine without tools. The stock is an American-style synthetic with a SoftTouch coating that improves grip in wet or cold conditions when bare hands are the only option. The action is drilled and tapped to accept Remington 700-pattern rings and bases, which keeps scope mounting straightforward given the breadth of compatible hardware on the market. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24 and fitted with an Omni muzzle brake that vents propellant gas to meaningfully reduce felt recoil — relevant at .300 PRC pressures over a multi-day trip.
