Description
The B-14 Wilderness Ridge is built for hunters and field shooters who spend real time in rough country and need a rifle that holds up to weather without requiring coddling. The synthetic stock wears a hand-painted camouflage pattern with a SoftTouch finish that deadens glare and provides grip in wet or cold conditions — practical advantages over a glossy laminate when you’re moving through brush or glassing from a ridge.
Bergara makes their barrels from 4140 chrome-moly steel with a No. 5 taper profile, which balances stiffness against weight at a carry-friendly package length. The barrel runs fully free-floated, so point of impact stays consistent regardless of how the stock flexes under varying sling tension or shooting positions. Both the barrel and the one-piece B-14 action wear Sniper Grey Cerakote, a finish chosen for corrosion resistance in the kind of wet, cold, or salt-heavy environments where hunting rifles actually work hard.
The 1-in-10″ twist rate is well-suited to the full range of standard .308 Winchester projectiles — from 150-grain hunting loads to heavier 175- and 185-grain match bullets — without being optimized so tightly that lighter loads become impractical. The barrel is threaded 5/8″-24, the standard pattern for .308-bore muzzle devices, so suppressor hosts and aftermarket brakes fit without an adapter. A hinged floor plate provides a fast, reliable way to unload in the field without cycling rounds through the action. The two-position safety and smooth-feeding two-lug bolt keep the manual of arms simple under field conditions.
