The B-14 Wilderness Ridge is built for hunters and field shooters who need a rifle that holds up in genuinely bad weather without the weight penalty of a premium platform. It occupies a practical middle ground: enough refinement to guarantee sub-MOA accuracy, enough ruggedness to go out in conditions where a wood-stocked rifle would be a liability.

The barrel is machined from 4140 chrome-moly steel in a No. 5 taper — a profile that keeps weight reasonable over a full day of carrying while still providing enough mass to dissipate heat across strings of shots. The 1-in-8″ twist rate in 6.5 Creedmoor is fast enough to stabilize the heavier, high-BC projectiles that define the cartridge’s long-range capability — typically bullets in the 130–147 grain range — so handloaders and factory-ammo buyers alike have wide selection without chasing an edge-case twist. The muzzle is cut to 5/8″-24 threads and ships with an Omni Muzzle Brake, giving the shooter the option to run a suppressor or swap to a different muzzle device without additional machining.

The action is Bergara’s own B-14, a two-lug bolt design with a coned bolt nose and breech that smooths feeding, and a sliding plate extractor for reliable extraction across varying chamber pressures. The hinged floor plate feeds a 4+1 capacity and allows faster unloading in the field than a fixed-box arrangement. Both the barrel and action wear Sniper Grey Cerakote, which resists corrosion without requiring the maintenance that a blued finish demands in wet or humid country. The synthetic stock carries a SoftTouch finish and a hand-painted camouflage pattern, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope base.
