Description
The B-14 Wilderness Ridge is built for hunters who cover serious ground in rough country and need a rifle that can take weather without being babied. It is not a bench gun or a dedicated long-range target rifle — it sits in the space between a working hunting rifle and a capable field precision platform, suited to someone who wants sub-MOA accountability at distances beyond what most factory hunting rifles are tuned for.
Bergara cuts its barrels from 4140 chrome-moly steel and finishes them in Sniper Grey Cerakote, the same coating applied to the action. That uniformity matters in the field: mismatched finishes corrode at different rates, and a single coating across both metal surfaces holds up more consistently through rain, temperature swings, and hard use. The barrel is fully free-floated, so point of impact stays consistent regardless of how the stock flexes under sling tension or a shooting rest.
The 1-in-8-inch twist rate was chosen with the 6.5 PRC’s typical bullet weights in mind — heavier, high-BC projectiles in the 140–147 grain range stabilize well at that rate, which gives you flexibility when selecting hunting or precision ammunition without having to compromise between the two. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24, so suppressor or muzzle brake attachment is straightforward with standard accessories.
The hinged floor plate feeds a 2+1 capacity. That is a deliberate choice for a magnum-class cartridge in a hunting context — it keeps the action compact and the stock geometry clean. The two-position safety gives you a positive on/off without intermediate positions to second-guess. Bases are not included, but the receiver is drilled and tapped for standard scope mounting systems.
