Description
The B-14 Wilderness Ridge is built for hunters and long-range shooters who spend serious time in rough country and need a rifle that can take weather abuse without babying. The 7mm PRC chambering sits in a practical middle ground: it pushes heavy, high-BC projectiles fast enough for extended-range work while staying manageable enough for a carry rifle, and the 1-in-8-inch twist rate is well-matched to the heavier-for-caliber bullets that make the cartridge worthwhile at distance — if you handload or hunt with premium factory ammunition in the 160–175 grain range, this barrel will stabilize them properly.
The barrel is 4140 chrome-moly steel in a No. 5 taper, finished in Sniper Grey Cerakote to resist corrosion without the weight premium of stainless. It threads 5/8-24 and ships with Bergara’s Omni Muzzle Brake, which is omnidirectional and multi-ported — useful on a 7mm magnum-class cartridge where felt recoil management directly affects how quickly you can reacquire a target or spot your own impacts. The fully free-floated barrel keeps point of impact consistent as the stock heats or flexes under field conditions.
The B-14 action is a two-lug bolt with a sliding plate extractor and a coned bolt nose and breech, which together smooth the feed cycle and reduce the chance of a jam when working the bolt quickly or under cold-weather conditions when hands aren’t moving well. The receiver is drilled and tapped to accept Remington 700 long-action bases, so mounting optics draws on a wide pool of compatible hardware. The hinged floor plate holds three magnum-capacity rounds. The synthetic stock carries Bergara’s SoftTouch hand-painted camouflage finish, which provides a secure grip surface in wet conditions without adding bulk.
