Description
The Bergara Premier Action is built for the shooter who wants to spec out a precision bolt-action rifle from the ground up rather than accept the compromises that come with a factory package gun. Machined in the USA from 416 stainless steel, the action is intended to drop into most Remington 700-pattern stocks and chassis, which means a wide catalog of aftermarket bedding and inlet options is immediately available without custom fitting work.
The sliding plate extractor provides positive, controlled-round feeding and maintains tension on the case head from the moment a cartridge is stripped from the magazine through extraction, which reduces the chance of a case slipping free under the extractor during rapid cycling. A dual ejector setup ensures reliable case clearance across a broad range of chamber pressures and brass weights. The spiral-fluted bolt body reduces surface contact between bolt and receiver, which keeps the action cycling smoothly when fouling or temperature changes tighten tolerances between the two surfaces.
Scope bases mount using the standard 8-40 screw pattern shared with the Remington 700, so any base cut for that platform will fit without modification. The action also accepts Remington 700-pattern triggers, giving the builder control over pull weight and break characteristics without committing to a proprietary trigger ecosystem. The enlarged bolt handle improves leverage for faster cycling and makes it easier to run the action from a supported shooting position without breaking a proper cheek weld. This is a short-action, standard bolt face configuration suited to cartridges in that family rather than magnum-length or small-primer bolt face chamberings.
