Description
The B-14 Wilderness Sierra is built for hunters who cover serious ground and still need to make a precise shot at distance. It sits in a fixed SoftTouch stock finished in Bergara’s Digital Camouflage pattern, a texture that improves grip in wet conditions while breaking up the rifle’s outline in the field without adding the weight or fragility of a separate wrap or paint job.
The barrel is a threaded, fluted #5 profile in stainless steel. Fluting removes material between the lands of the barrel’s exterior, which lowers weight without shortening the sight radius or meaningfully reducing stiffness, and gives hot gas somewhere to move away from the bore surface, which helps the barrel return to zero faster between strings. The stainless construction resists the kind of surface corrosion that builds up when a hunting rifle gets wet repeatedly and isn’t always dried immediately.
The 1-in-9-inch twist rate is matched to the heavier, longer projectiles that .300 PRC was designed around. A faster twist than you’d find on older .30-caliber magnums, it stabilizes high-BC bullets in the 200- to 230-grain range where the cartridge performs best at extended ranges, so ammunition selection should be centered there rather than on lighter .30-caliber projectiles that may over-spin at this rate.
An Omni Muzzle Brake is fitted at the muzzle, which redirects propellant gas to counter both rearward push and muzzle rise. On a 7.4-pound rifle firing a cartridge with this much case capacity, that’s a meaningful contribution to shooter comfort and andfollow-up shot speed. The receiver is stainless steel, and the bolt is right-hand only. The trigger is Bergara’s own performance unit, adjustable for those who want to dial in pull weight to their preference.
