The B-14 Stoke Compact is built around a straightforward problem: most bolt-action rifles are sized for average-to-large adult frames, and a shooter who doesn’t fit that mold ends up fighting the rifle rather than shooting it. Bergara’s answer wasn’t to shorten the stock by a token amount and call it done. Instead, they reworked the entire chassis — shortening the forend, recontouring the grip, and angling the comb downward — to arrive at a 12.25-inch length of pull. That geometry keeps a smaller-statured shooter’s eye naturally in line with the scope without strain, which matters more for accuracy than any single mechanical spec.

The .223 Rem/5.56 NATO chambering makes practical sense for this platform. Recoil is modest, so even a shorter length of pull doesn’t put the shooter at a mechanical disadvantage, and the cartridge rewards the 1-in-9 twist rate well — that rate stabilizes bullets in roughly the 55–69 grain range that makes up most .223 Rem practice and hunting loads, without requiring the heavier projectiles that a faster twist would favor. Shooters who prefer very heavy-for-caliber bullets above 75 grains should factor that in when selecting ammunition.

The 16.5-inch barrel wears a #4.5 contour, which keeps weight down without going so light that it becomes barrel-whip-sensitive during a firing string. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24, sized for the suppressors and muzzle devices made for .30-caliber and larger bore threads rather than the finer 1/2×28 common on lighter .223 barrels — a deliberate choice that broadens accessory compatibility. Both the barrel and receiver are finished in Graphite Black Cerakote. The AICS-pattern magazine well means aftermarket magazine options are plentiful and well-established. Remington 700 footprint rings and bases mount directly, so optics selection follows whatever the shooter already owns or prefers.
