The body is extruded 6061 aluminum with a Mil-Spec hard coat anodize, which keeps the profile light without trading away surface hardness. Hard coat anodize at Mil-Spec depth resists wear from sling hardware, barrier contact, and general field handling better than standard Type II anodize, so the finish isn’t just cosmetic. M-LOK slots along the rail surface let you mount accessories directly to the handguard rather than relying on a rail panel — that keeps weight and profile low when slots are empty, and gives you a positive mechanical attachment when they’re filled.
