The cover wraps around 1.5-inch diameter suppressors and solves a practical problem: sustained fire heats a suppressor to temperatures that burn through fabric and skin on contact, and the radiated heat produces visible mirage that disrupts sight picture on precision shots.

The two-part construction is what separates this from a simple sleeve.
