CCI’s Shotshell load in .22 WMR is purpose-built for short-range pest control, where a conventional single projectile is too precise a tool for fast-moving, hard-to-center targets like snakes, rodents, and similar nuisances. Instead of a single bullet, the case holds a payload of #12 shot, which disperses on exit and produces a spread pattern that makes contact far more likely at close range than any aimed rimfire round would allow.

The 52-grain shot charge leaves the muzzle at 1,000 fps — a velocity calibrated to keep the pattern useful rather than blown out, and to keep report and recoil modest enough that repeat shots in a working environment are not a burden. Brass casing and CCI’s rimfire priming system provide the dependable ignition that pest-control use demands, since a misfire in a field situation is a genuine inconvenience rather than just a statistic.

This load is best suited to pistols, revolvers, and bolt-action or single-shot rifles chambered in .22 WMR. Shooters running semi-automatic platforms should be aware that the lighter impulse of a shotshell charge may not reliably cycle the action, making manual operation necessary between shots. At close range — typically inside 15 to 20 yards — the pattern is practical and consistent. Beyond that, shot energy and pattern density both drop off quickly, so this is a contact-distance solution, not a general-purpose round. Each box contains 20 rounds.
