Description
The Banshee MK4 in .338 ARC is built for shooters who want meaningful terminal performance out of a compact pistol-configuration platform. The .338 ARC cartridge was designed specifically for AR-pattern barrels, delivering substantially more energy at range than the 5.56 or 6.5 Grendel rounds it was developed alongside, while still running reliably in a standard AR bolt-face diameter. That combination makes this a serious option for hunting medium to large game or for use as a hard-hitting suppressor host where maintaining velocity through a short barrel matters.
The 10.5-inch barrel is short enough to make the package genuinely maneuverable, but the .338 ARC’s case design was engineered to retain usable velocity even at this length, which is not something every centerfire cartridge can claim. The trade-off is a sharper pressure signature at the muzzle compared to a rifle-length setup, which is worth accounting for when selecting a suppressor or muzzle device.
The ambidextrous safety is a practical inclusion given the pistol grip controls typical of this platform, letting left- and right-handed shooters run the same manual of arms without adapting their grip. The optics-ready top rail leaves the mounting decision entirely to the shooter — a logical choice when the intended use cases range from hunting fields to close-quarters work, each calling for a different optic solution. Full-length M-LOK slots along the handguard give you room to mount lights, a grip, or a bipod without crowding the rail.
The Armor Black finish is CMMG’s standard hard-coat treatment on this line. Capacity is 10 rounds.
