Description

The Banshee MkGs is CMMG’s answer to shooters who want a compact, pistol-format AR that feeds from double-stack Glock-pattern magazines. That magazine compatibility matters in practice: it means a 33-round capacity from a widely available, affordable format, and it allows someone who already carries or owns a Glock-pattern pistol to consolidate their ammunition and spare magazines across platforms.

The 5-inch barrel keeps the overall package short and maneuverable, which suits a role where reach and portability matter more than velocity. Because 9mm is a pistol cartridge running at relatively modest pressures, the short barrel gives up less performance than a rifle cartridge would in the same configuration. The 1:10-inch twist rate is well-suited to the range of standard 9mm projectile weights—115, 124, and 147 grain loads all stabilize reliably, so ammunition selection stays broad. The barrel carries a Satin Black Cerakote finish, which resists corrosion and wear without adding significant thickness.

The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28, the standard pitch for 9mm suppressors and muzzle devices, so the barrel is ready to accept either without modification. The ambidextrous safety makes the control layout usable from either side without any parts swap. CMMG ships the gun optics-ready with no iron sights installed, which keeps the top rail uncluttered for whatever optic fits the intended role. The EML handguard runs full-length M-LOK slots on the sides and bottom, along with M-LOK positions between the top Picatinny rail sections, giving meaningful attachment real estate without forcing the shooter into a single accessory configuration.
