Description
The CMMG Banshee MkGs is built for shooters who want a compact, pistol-caliber AR platform that runs on Glock-pattern double-stack magazines. That magazine compatibility matters in practice: if you already carry or shoot Glock 9mm pistols, your existing magazines work here, and the 33-round capacity means extended range sessions without constant reloading. The platform was developed specifically to answer demand for a 9mm AR pistol that didn’t require proprietary feeding, and the mechanics follow through on that intent with last-round bolt hold-open so you always know when you’ve run dry.
The 8-inch barrel is long enough to extract meaningful velocity from 9mm Luger while keeping the overall package compact. A 1:10-inch twist is well-suited to the typical bullet weight range in 9mm — most 115 to 147-grain projectiles stabilize reliably at that rate without over-spinning lighter loads. The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28, the standard 9mm suppressor and muzzle device pitch, so adding a compensator or can is straightforward without adapters.
The barrel wears a Satin Black Cerakote finish while the rest of the pistol ships in CMMG’s Midnight Bronze — a two-tone combination that’s more than cosmetic: Cerakote provides meaningful corrosion and wear resistance on the surfaces that take the most mechanical stress. The ambidextrous safety makes the controls equally workable from either side, and the optics-ready upper means you choose your own sighting solution rather than paying for glass you’d replace anyway. The EML handguard runs full-length M-LOK slots on the sides and bottom, with top Picatinny rail sections, giving you practical mounting real estate without adding unnecessary bulk.
