Modern rifle handguards, particularly the thin M-LOK and KeyMod profiles common on current AR-platform builds, shed heat poorly under sustained fire. The Cole-TAC SD Handguard Wrap is built to sit between your support hand and that hot aluminum, giving you a durable thermal buffer without permanently modifying your rifle. It wraps around the outside of the handguard and stays in place, so you can run the rifle as long as the situation demands without shifting your grip or reaching for a glove.

The wrap is constructed from two layers of Squadron material — a fabric Cole-TAC uses across several of their thermal management products — laser-cut and then laminated together. The lamination is what does the real work: bonding the layers keeps them from separating under repeated heat cycles and prevents the wrap from losing its shape over time. The no-slots configuration means the full surface area of the wrap is intact, maximizing coverage and the thermal barrier between the handguard and your hand. If you run hardware like pressure switches or QD sling mounts on the sides of your handguard, the slotted variant would clear those, but if your handguard face is clean, the no-slots version gives you uninterrupted protection. The Ranger Green finish is Cole-TAC’s own colorway — not a generic OD or foliage — and sits well alongside common green-family furniture without clashing. At roughly six and a half inches long, it covers the portion of the handguard where the support hand typically index during a standard grip.
