The Sig Sauer Tread Enhanced handguard is a direct replacement designed specifically for the M400 Tread rifle series, and it installs without any special tooling because it retains the factory barrel nut already on the rifle. That two-screw swap makes this a practical upgrade rather than a full gunsmithing project. For shooters running a Tread who want a longer sight radius, more real estate for a support hand, or additional M-LOK attachment positions for lights and accessories, the 15-inch length pushes the handguard close to the muzzle end and opens up a significant stretch of tube for whatever mounting hardware you intend to run.

The free-float design separates the handguard from the barrel entirely, meaning pressure applied by a sling, a barricade, or a support hand does not transfer mechanically to the barrel. That matters for practical accuracy: any contact with a traditional delta-ring handguard that presses against the barrel can shift point of impact, and a free-float arrangement eliminates that variable. The M-LOK slots cut into the handguard are the functional alternative to a full Picatinny rail running the length of the tube — you attach hardware only where you need it, which keeps the profile snag-free everywhere else.
