The 5-inch National Match barrel is fitted to closer tolerances than a standard service-grade 1911 barrel, which translates to more consistent bullet release and tighter groups at distance—meaningful when you’re shooting timed stages or working on a refined draw-to-first-shot process. The single-action trigger keeps the pull consistent and short, which is why serious competition shooters have favored this format for over a century.

The optics-ready slide uses a removable cover plate compatible with Colt’s optics plate system, so you can run the pistol with iron sights or mount a compact red dot without machining or permanent modification to the slide. The Novak adjustable fiber optic sights give you a practical iron-sight setup regardless—the fiber optic front draws the eye quickly in varied lighting, and the adjustable rear lets you dial elevation and windage to your load rather than accepting whatever zero the factory shipped.
