Description

The Daniel Defense Grip-N-Rip is a purpose-built charging handle for AR-15 platform rifles, developed with suppressed use as a primary design consideration. Running a suppressor increases back-pressure in the upper receiver, which often sends gas rearward through the charging handle channel and into the shooter’s face. The Grip-N-Rip addresses this directly with integrated anti-gas geometry that redirects that vented gas upward and away from the operator rather than toward the eyes and nose — a meaningful comfort difference during extended suppressed strings of fire, not just a marketing claim about sealed tolerances.

The handle body is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, which carries a higher tensile strength than the 6061-T6 alloy used for the extended levers and latch. That material split is a deliberate trade-off: the body absorbs the mechanical stress of repeated cycling and takes the brunt of any rough handling, while the levers, where weight matters more than raw strength, stay light. All aluminum components receive a Type III hard coat anodize, which is a thicker, harder surface treatment than standard anodizing and resists wear and corrosion under field conditions. Heavy-duty stainless steel roll pins hold the assembly together.

The ambidextrous design gives each lever its own independent latch mechanism, so either hand can fully actuate the charging handle without the other side needing to move. This is functionally different from a single-latch handle with an extended paddle grafted onto one side — both sides work completely and independently. At 1.3 oz, the added capability does not meaningfully change the weight balance of the rifle. Manufactured in the United States.
