Description

The MK12 SPR Upper Receiver Group is built around the role that gave it its name: a designated marksman rifle that sits between a standard carbine and a dedicated precision rifle. It is intended for shooters who need genuine reach at distance while retaining the modularity of an AR15 platform — a useful combination for military-style competition, field use, or precision practice.

The 18-inch barrel uses a rifle-length direct impingement gas system, which spreads the dwell time and pressure curve across a longer distance than a carbine or mid-length arrangement. The practical result is a softer, more progressive recoil impulse that is easier to stay behind during rapid follow-up shots and more forgiving of suppressor back-pressure if one is added later. The barrel itself is cold hammer forged from a proprietary stainless steel blend and given a DLC finish, a process that leaves the chamber and bore in near-perfect alignment and produces a surface hard enough to resist fouling and heat degradation over sustained use.

A 1-in-7 inch twist rate stabilizes heavier projectiles — bullets in the 77 to 80 grain range that are common choices for longer-range 5.56 work — while still handling standard 55 grain ammunition without issue. The bolt carrier group is M16 profile, chrome lined, and Mil-Spec MP tested. Up front, a 12-inch free-floating DDM4 quad rail keeps the barrel harmonics isolated from any accessories mounted to the handguard, which matters for consistency at distance. Sights are not included, leaving the optic choice entirely open.
