Description

The Radian Weapons Model 1 Upper/Handguard Set is built for shooters who want a fully matched, purpose-machined upper rather than an assembled mix of parts from different manufacturers. Everything in the set — receiver, handguard, charging handle, barrel nut — comes from the same design program, so the geometry and finish are consistent across the entire assembly rather than being reconciled after the fact.

The receiver and handguard are both machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum, which starts as a denser, more dimensionally stable stock than the cast or forged billets used in standard AR production. Radian machines reinforcement into the areas that see the most stress during cycling and handling, rather than relying on wall thickness alone. The handguard attaches to the barrel nut with four steel cross bolts that are coated in black nitride — a surface treatment that resists corrosion without the dimensional buildup that some coatings introduce — and an anti-rotation pin keeps the handguard indexed under load.

The 14-inch M-LOK handguard runs a continuous Picatinny rail along the top for optics and mounts, with M-LOK slots at the three, six, and nine o’clock positions for lights, grips, and other accessories. Every external edge is chamfered, which matters during extended handling when sharp machining marks become noticeable. The included Raptor-SD Ambidextrous Charging Handle allows positive manipulation from either side without requiring the shooter to break grip or reposition. The forward assist uses a low-profile, minimalist design that retains the function without adding unnecessary bulk. The entire set is finished in Radian Cerakote Brown, giving the upper and handguard a unified appearance. Intended for AR-style builds chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO.
