Description

The DDM4 PDW is built for shooters who need a capable, close-quarters carbine without the bulk of a standard-length rifle — home defense, vehicle transport, or any role where a full-size platform is simply too much gun for the space available. It pairs a pistol-length direct impingement gas system with a short barrel, which reduces the dwell time gas has to cycle the action. That shorter dwell keeps bolt velocity in check and softens the felt impulse relative to what you’d get running the same caliber through a carbine-length system.

The 1-in-7 inch twist rate is matched deliberately to .300 AAC Blackout’s heavier subsonic projectiles. Slower-twist barrels can fail to fully stabilize the long, heavy bullets that make subsonic .300 BLK effective at reduced noise; the tighter 1-in-7 keeps those projectiles stable and on target. That same twist handles standard supersonic loads without issue. The barrel itself is cold hammer forged from chrome moly vanadium steel, chrome lined, and proof- and magnetic-particle-inspected at the factory — construction suited to sustained use rather than occasional range visits.

The Maxim Defense CQB stock collapses to a compact overall length and extends for a more conventional shooting position, giving the rifle real flexibility across different shooters and kit configurations. The 6-inch M-LOK handguard keeps the platform light up front while still offering mounting positions for lights, grips, or other accessories. Muzzle threads are cut at 5/8×24, the standard for .30-caliber devices, so the rifle accepts suppressors and other muzzle accessories without an adapter. No sights are included, leaving the top rail open for whatever optic suits the intended role.
