Description
The Daniel Defense Micro Mount is a fixed optic mount designed for shooters who want a secure, no-frills way to run a micro red dot on a flat-top AR platform. It is not a quick-detach system, and that is a deliberate trade-off: by eliminating the mechanism required for tool-free removal, the mount stays lighter and introduces fewer potential points of failure under sustained use.
The mount uses Daniel Defense’s patented Rock & Lock attachment system, which seats against a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail and is locked down with two slotted machine screws threading into stainless steel self-locking inserts. Those inserts resist vibration-induced loosening without requiring thread-locking compound. A recoil lug between the mount and the optic body redirects shear forces away from the mounting screws, which matters on a hard-recoiling host or over a high round count.
The body is precision CNC machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and finished with Military Specification Type III Hard Coat Anodize, which puts a harder surface on the aluminum than standard anodizing and improves wear resistance at contact points. The mount ships with the hardware needed for either Absolute Co-Witness or Lower One-Third Co-Witness height, letting the shooter choose how their iron sights appear in the optic window. The Lower One-Third spacer is made from a magnesium alloy to keep weight down. Compatible optics include the Aimpoint Micro R-1, H-1, H-2, T-1, and T-2, along with the Vortex SPARC I and II, Primary Arms Micro Dot and Advanced Micro Dot, and Holosun HS403, among others that share the same mounting footprint. Manufactured in the USA.
