Description

The EOTech Vudu 1-6x24mm with SR-3 reticle is built for shooters who need a single optic to handle both close-quarters work and honest medium-range accuracy — competitive 3-gun shooters, carbine-course regulars, and hunters running AR-platform rifles in varied terrain. It is not a compromise between those roles so much as a deliberate design that takes both seriously.

Placing the reticle on the first focal plane means the SR-3’s BDC subtensions stay proportionally correct at every power setting. You can call a holdover at 3x just as confidently as at 6x, which matters when a target appears at an unpredictable distance and you cannot afford to stop and check your magnification before reading the reticle. The SR-3 itself is calibrated for 5.56mm ballistics, so the drop compensation points map to real distances for that cartridge rather than serving as generic reference marks.

At 1x, the scope is designed around a speed-ring style reticle presentation intended to give both-eyes-open target acquisition close to what a dedicated red dot offers, without the added hardware of a separate sight. The illumination system runs on a CR2032 battery and includes an auto-shutoff after roughly two hours of inactivity to preserve battery life, which the specification sheet puts at approximately 500 hours at a mid-range brightness setting.

The tube is 30mm in diameter, the exterior finish is flat black Type III hardcoat anodize, and the scope is manufactured in Japan. Adjustment clicks on this SR-3 model move in approximately 0.5 MOA increments, with a total travel range of ±50 MOA in both windage and elevation. A throw lever is included in the box for fast magnification changes under pressure.
