Description
Federal’s Master Class line is built for competitive clay target shooters who need a load that performs consistently under the scrutiny of sporting clays and FITASC courses, where marginal loads get punished by difficult angles and longer distances. The foundation of this shell is Federal’s straight-wall hull, which pairs with a proprietary podium wad engineered to control shot column deformation and promote a more uniform pattern downrange — the kind of consistency that matters when a tight presentation requires the shot string to arrive intact rather than strung out.
High-antimony lead shot is harder than standard lead, which means individual pellets retain their spherical shape through the forcing cone and choke rather than deforming under the pressure spike of ignition. Rounder pellets fly more predictably and carry velocity better at distance, both of which translate directly to cleaner breaks on going-away or crossing targets. The propellant and primer combination is selected to produce a muzzle velocity of 1,235 fps, a figure that keeps the 1-1/8 oz payload moving with enough authority at the back end of a long shot without generating the kind of recoil that compounds across a hundred-bird round. That balance between payload and velocity is where this load earns its place in a serious competitor’s bag rather than simply being a range practice option. Each box contains 25 rounds.
