Description
The FightLite Industries MCR® Dual-Feed™ Upper is built for shooters who need a single platform capable of running both standard AR15/M16 box magazines and M27 linked belt ammunition without any tools or permanent modification to the host lower receiver. That flexibility is the core purpose of the design: you can switch between sustained belt-fed fire and conventional magazine-fed operation at operator discretion, which changes the tactical role of the rifle depending on what the mission demands.
The upper is machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum, with a billet steel feed tray finished in manganese phosphate. The upper receiver, feed cover, and charging handle share that same billet construction, which keeps the assembly dimensionally consistent across components rather than mixing forged and cast parts. The short-stroke gas piston system moves the operating energy away from the bolt carrier and back toward the receiver, which reduces the carbon fouling that direct-impingement systems deposit directly into the action — a meaningful difference in sustained-fire or adverse-condition use.
The 16.25-inch quick-change barrel can be swapped in approximately three seconds without tools, which matters when a unit wants to rotate a warm barrel out of service during extended use. The 1:7 right-hand twist is optimized for heavier 5.56 NATO projectiles — bullets in the 62- to 77-grain range stabilize reliably at that rate — making it a better match for M855 and Mk262-class ammunition than slower twist rates that were designed around lighter 55-grain loads. The M-LOK® handguard provides a MIL-STD 1913 rail at the 12 o’clock position with M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, giving broad mounting options without the weight penalty of a full quad-rail. The package ships with an adjustable sight set, main action spring, bolt catch, carbine stock spacer, 100 M27 links, and an operator’s manual.
