Description
The FightLite Industries MCR® Dual-Feed™ Upper is built for shooters who need to move between magazine-fed and belt-fed operation without changing platforms or tools. It drops onto any MIL-Spec AR-15, M16, or M4 lower receiver without permanent modification, converting a standard carbine into something closer in capability to a squad automatic weapon. That matters to small-unit security personnel, law enforcement, and prepared civilian owners who want genuine ammunition flexibility in a single host firearm.
The Dual-Feed™ system is the defining feature: the upper accepts standard AR-15/M16 box magazines and M27 linked ammunition interchangeably, at the operator’s discretion. Switching between the two requires no tools and takes seconds. The short-stroke gas piston drives the action rather than a traditional direct-impingement arrangement, which keeps combustion gases and carbon out of the receiver — meaningful when running high round counts or when maintenance intervals are unpredictable.
The 16.25″ barrel runs a 1:7″ right-hand twist, which stabilizes heavier projectiles reliably — particularly useful when linked ammunition loads vary or when the shooter wants to run 77-grain or heavier bullets without chasing a separate barrel. The barrel itself is quick-change, designed to swap in approximately three seconds, so heat management during sustained fire becomes a practical option rather than a theoretical one.
The upper receiver, feed cover, and charging handle are precision-machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum. The feed tray is billet steel. External surfaces carry a combination of manganese phosphate and Type III, Class 2 hardcoat anodize in black — both finishes chosen for durability under field conditions rather than appearance. The MIL-STD 1913 co-planar handguard rail accommodates optics and accessories without an adapter. An adjustable sight set is included.
