Description

The Geissele Super Modular MK14 is built for shooters putting together a compact AR-15 with a free-float handguard that won’t add unnecessary bulk or weight to the build. Where the broader Super Modular Rail family prioritizes maximum rail space, the MK14 profile trims the outer diameter down to 1.52 inches, which makes a meaningful difference in how naturally a support hand can wrap around the forearm during extended use — particularly relevant on shorter builds where the hand sits closer to the muzzle.

Machined from 7000 series aluminum, the MK14 uses a thinner wall section than the heavier MK4 and MK8 variants in the Super Modular line, which is how Geissele achieves the slimmer profile without switching alloy families. The tradeoff is a slightly reduced surface area compared to wider rails, but the continuous full-length Picatinny top section still accepts optics, backup sights, and offsets at any position. The M-LOK slots along the sides and underside handle lights, pressure switches, and bipod mounts without the weight of a full quad-rail arrangement.

The included 2.25-inch Geissele barrel nut is the critical piece that makes the free-float mount work: it threads onto the upper receiver and supports the handguard independently of the gas tube and barrel, so no contact pressure reaches the barrel regardless of how accessories are mounted. The Type III hardcoat anodized finish on the aluminum is the same specification used throughout Geissele’s combat-oriented product line, providing abrasion resistance that holds up through field handling. Installation requires a barrel nut wrench; one is not included.
