Description

The Geissele Super Precision mount is built for shooters who need a scope to go on and come back to the same zero, repeatedly, without fuss. It is aimed at serious AR-15 and M4 platform use where the cost of recalibrating after a mount swap or a hard use cycle is unacceptable.

The mount is machined from a single billet of 7075-T6 aluminum, caps included. Cutting the rings and base from one piece of material means the saddle geometry is determined by the machine, not by assembly — there is no stack of tolerances between the cap and the base to introduce offset or misalignment that could stress the scope tube over time or cause point-of-impact shift. That single-piece construction is the primary reason the mount can make a credible return-to-zero claim rather than just a clamping-force claim.

Clamping is handled by a pair of thumb screws engineered to deliver 1,400 pounds of force each. That figure matters because insufficient clamping allows the mount to shift under recoil before it reaches the limit of the rail attachment, which undermines zero retention regardless of how well the base is torqued down. Four shear lugs spread the recoil load across the Picatinny rail rather than concentrating it at the clamp screws, which protects both the mount and the rail surface during sustained use.

The 0.63-inch forward extension built into the standard configuration is there to push the optic away from the shooter’s eye, compensating for the shorter receiver-to-cheek distance typical of AR-15 stocks and giving the shooter more flexibility in dialing in eye relief. The Type 3 hardcoat anodized finish in Black provides a hard, uniform surface layer that resists wear at contact points without adding meaningful weight.
