Description
The Grand Power Stribog SP45A3 is a compact, high-capacity pistol built around the .45 ACP cartridge and designed for shooters who want serious round count in a controllable, maneuverable platform. It originates from Slovakia and is imported by Global Ordnance, bringing a distinctly European engineering approach to a familiar American caliber.
The operating system is roller-delayed blowback, a mechanism that slows the rearward travel of the bolt carrier by using rollers that must cam outward before the action can cycle. Compared to straight blowback, this delays the opening of the breech until pressure has dropped further, which softens the felt impulse and reduces the violence of the cycling action — a meaningful advantage when running a pistol-caliber cartridge at volume. The tradeoff is added mechanical complexity relative to simpler blowback designs, but the payoff in shootability is real, particularly with the heavier .45 ACP projectile.
The upper receiver is machined from aircraft-grade aluminum with a black hardcoat anodized finish, while the lower is polymer — a construction pairing that keeps weight down without sacrificing rigidity where it matters most. The threaded barrel is cut in a .578×28 pattern, which is the standard thread pitch for .45 ACP suppressors and muzzle devices. Controls are fully ambidextrous, and the non-reciprocating charging handle keeps the shooter’s support hand clear of the cycling action. The trigger group is mil-spec AR-15 compatible, which opens a wide field of drop-in upgrade options for shooters who prefer a different pull weight or reset. Iron sights are fitted from the factory. Three 20-round UMP-style magazines and a molded hard carrying case are included.
