Description

The HUXWRX 338 Alignment Rod is a pre-shoot verification tool for precision rifle shooters running suppressed .338 setups. Before a suppressor goes on a rifle for the first time, there is no reliable way to confirm that the suppressor bore, muzzle device, and barrel are all sharing a common centerline just by looking. A bore strike — where a bullet clips the inside of the suppressor — can damage both the can and the host rifle, and it happens most often when alignment goes unchecked. This rod is built to eliminate that guesswork.

The rod is constructed from carbon fiber, which keeps it rigid enough to hold a true line across its 18-inch length without introducing flex that would defeat the purpose. You insert it into the bore, thread up the muzzle device and suppressor as you normally would, and observe whether the rod exits centered through the suppressor’s exit aperture. Any deviation from center becomes immediately visible. The process takes seconds and can be repeated any time a component is swapped, a mount is changed, or the suppressor moves to a different host.

At .338 bore diameter, this rod is sized for large-caliber precision platforms — bolt guns chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum and similar cartridges where suppressor use is common and where the cost of a bore strike is high. Using an undersized rod from a smaller-caliber kit would allow the rod to shift off-axis inside the bore, producing a false reading. Matching the rod to the actual bore diameter is what makes the check meaningful.
