Description
The HUXWRX Muzzle Brake QD is built for two purposes at once: meaningful recoil reduction when shooting unsuppressed, and a ready mounting point for a compatible HUXWRX suppressor when noise reduction matters. Most muzzle brakes force a choice between standalone performance and suppressor compatibility — this one handles both through a quick-detach interface that lets you add or remove a suppressor without tools and without disturbing your zero in any meaningful way.
The brake itself is engineered to redirect propellant gases laterally, pulling the muzzle down and reducing the rearward push felt at the shooter’s shoulder. The practical result is a flatter shooting rifle and faster return to target between shots, which matters whether you’re working through a training course or hunting where a second shot opportunity is real. The 1/2×28 thread pitch fits the overwhelming majority of AR-pattern rifles chambered for this cartridge, so installation is straightforward on most common platforms.
HUXWRX designed this brake specifically to mate with their HX-QD 556k, 556, 762, 762 Ti, and Magnum Ti suppressors, meaning the quick-detach interface is purpose-built rather than adapted from a generic mounting standard. That matters for lockup consistency — the connection point between a muzzle device and a suppressor is where alignment lives, and a purpose-matched system is more likely to maintain concentricity across repeated attachments and removals. At 2.3 inches in length, it adds a modest amount to overall barrel length and contributes just 5 ounces to the rifle’s weight.
