KAK Industry built this bolt carrier group around an M16-profile carrier, which is heavier than a standard AR-15 carrier and adds mass to the reciprocating assembly. That extra weight slows the rearward travel of the bolt carrier during the firing cycle, giving the buffer and spring more time to absorb energy before the carrier reverses direction — a meaningful difference in how the rifle handles during rapid strings of fire.
The carrier itself is machined from 8620 steel, heat treated and precision ground, then finished in chrome-lined phosphate. The chrome lining on the interior of the carrier and the gas key does most of the durability work: it creates a hard surface that resists carbon adhesion and corrosion, which keeps fouling from binding against the bore and makes the BCG easier to clean after extended range sessions. The phosphate outer coating adds a complementary layer of corrosion resistance without contributing significant weight or changing the external dimensions.
The bolt is cut from a single piece of 9310 steel, shot peened to relieve surface stress, and magnetic particle inspected — a process that reveals subsurface cracks before the part ever reaches a rifle. The firing pin is machined from 8740 steel and chrome plated, and the gas key is staked hydraulically rather than by hand, which produces consistent torque across the fasteners rather than relying on individual technique. The extractor is a one-piece billet design finished in phosphate, and the ejector and extractor retaining pin are made from S7 tool steel. This BCG is headspaced for .224 Valkyrie and 6.8 SPC and is compatible with right-hand AR-15 uppers running those calibers.
