Description

KAK Industry builds this bolt carrier group around an M16 auto-profile carrier, which adds mass compared to a standard AR-15 profile. That extra mass slows the unlocking cycle slightly, giving the case more time to drop in pressure before extraction begins — a meaningful advantage in short-barreled or suppressed builds where gas timing is already aggressive. The carrier is machined from 8620 steel, a bearing-grade alloy chosen for its combination of surface hardness and a tough, ductile core after proper heat treatment, then finished with chrome lining on the inside and a phosphate coating on the exterior.

The bolt itself is cut from a single piece of Carpenter 158 steel — the same alloy spec the military has used for decades because of its fatigue resistance under cyclic stress. It is shot peened to induce compressive surface stress and then magnetic particle inspected, a non-destructive process that reveals subsurface cracks before they become failures in the field. The extractor is a one-piece billet component, machined rather than stamped, and phosphate coated for corrosion resistance.

The gas key is 4130 steel, chrome lined internally, and staked with a hydraulic press rather than by hand — hydraulic staking produces consistent deformation across the screw shoulders, which is what actually keeps the key from walking loose under recoil. KAK uses T25-drive, Grade 8 carrier key screws, a drive pattern that resists cam-out better than standard hex during the staking process. Permatex gasket sealant is applied at the interface to prevent gas bypass. The firing pin is ground from 8740 steel and chrome plated. This is a right-hand, standard-profile BCG compatible with 5.56 and 300 Blackout uppers.
