Description

The LANTAC Dragon Plan-B Long is a full-length muzzle brake built for shooters running .30-caliber platforms who want meaningful recoil reduction without giving up the option to run a Plan-B HUB quick-attach suppressor mount. The two functions are genuinely integrated here: the 5/8-24 thread transitions directly to Plan-B HUB geometry, so swapping between bare brake and suppressor-ready configuration is a matter of attaching or removing the hub rather than changing the brake itself.

The core engineering is LANTAC’s patented Short Energy Pulse system. Conventional muzzle brakes redirect propellant gas to counteract felt recoil, but the SEP design focuses on compressing the duration of the recoil impulse rather than just its magnitude. A shorter impulse means the rearward energy resolves before the next round fires, which matters practically during rapid strings — the shooter’s sight picture is less likely to be disturbed by overlapping recoil cycles. The effect is especially relevant on full-auto-capable hosts, where recoil management breaks down fast if each shot’s energy bleeds into the next.

Construction is AISI 4140 chrome-moly steel machined on Swiss lathes and then hardened, followed by a QPQ nitride process performed to AMS2753D standards. QPQ — Quench Polish Quench — produces a hard, low-friction surface that also provides corrosion resistance through the full depth of the treated layer rather than as a surface coating that can be worn through. Each unit is serial numbered. A timing shim set is included to allow the brake to be clocked correctly on the barrel without compromising thread engagement. LANTAC recommends Rocksett semi-permanent thread locker for installation, sold separately.
