Description

The Lantac Dragon Plan-B Short is a muzzle brake built for shooters running .30-caliber rifles who also want the option to run a Q-compatible Plan-B suppressor hub without committing to the added length of the long-mount variant. The “Short” designation means the hub interface sits closer to the muzzle, which keeps overall package length down when the suppressor is mounted and reduces the unthreaded standoff when shooting bare.

The brake’s gas management is built around Lantac’s Short Energy Pulse system, which is designed to dissipate propellant gas quickly enough that the recoil impulse from one shot clears before the next round fires. In practical terms, this shortens and sharpens the felt recoil pulse rather than letting it linger, which helps the shooter stay on target during rapid fire or when running a mag at speed.

Construction starts with AISI 4140 steel machined on Swiss lathes, then hardened and finished with a QPQ nitride process to AMS2753D standards. QPQ — Quench Polish Quench — produces a surface that is harder and more corrosion-resistant than a straight salt-bath nitride, which matters on a muzzle device that lives at the hottest, dirtiest point on the rifle. The 5/8-24 thread pitch covers the common .30-caliber barrel standard, and the brake ships with a timing shim set so the ports can be properly indexed without improvising. Lantac recommends Rocksett thread locker for final installation. The brake is serial numbered at the factory for quality-control traceability. Made in the USA.
